Jalal, a beloved member of the San Francisco Fire Department and Local 798, and his family need your assistance, generosity and positive thoughts.  His story is one that is uniquely American with a definite Bay Area flavor.  Jalal immigrated to the USA in 1989 and spent his first years teaching martial arts to children while attending San Francisco State University.  After college, he began pursuing a career in the fire service.  In 2005, Jalal realized his dream when he was offered a position as a firefighter in the city he grew to love.  His new career in the SFFD was a blessing not only to Jalal but also to his family who depend on him as their sole provider.

Jalal and his family are currently in the fight of their lives against an enemy that does not discriminate based on race, religion or citizenship.  Cancer.  In mid-December 2016, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer.  Jalal is currently in the hospital retrieving nutrients intravenously to gain strength for his next round of treatment.Jalal, a beloved member of the San Francisco Fire Department, and his family need your assistance, generosity and positive thoughts.  His story is one that is uniquely American  with a definite Bay Area flavor.
