    Matt Vann Credit Union Donation Account

    On Monday, November 2nd, 2020, firefighter Matt Vann from Engine 1 suffered a traumatic brain injury while operating at a fire in the SOMA District. Matt remains at San Francisco General Hospital, where he is being cared for in the ICU by the spectacular neurotrauma team.  Matt has been through 2 successful surgeries to alleviate pressure on his brain.

    San Francisco Firefighters Mourn the Loss of our brother, Jason Cortez

    SAN FRANCISCO, CA – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of one of our own. This morning, the San Francisco Fire Department lost one of our own in a Line of Duty Death. Jason Cortez was a beloved 13-year veteran with the SFFD who tragically lost his life at the age of 42.

    Here is the summary report of our findings from the COVID-19 Seroprevalence Among San Francisco Firefighters and Emergency Responders study.  We are also planning a Town Hall with a Q&A session, via Zoom, next Friday August 7th 9:00am-10:00am.
